Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has publicly dismissed rumours of a potential return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring his continued commitment to the political coalition between the Labour Party and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a strongly worded statement, Obi described recent reports suggesting his defection as false and misleading. He emphasized that his political stance is rooted in the principles of justice, equity, transparency, and people-centered governance.
“I have no intention whatsoever of returning to the PDP or any political platform that does not reflect the progressive ideals we stand for,” he stated.
Obi said his focus is on consolidating the Labour–ADC coalition, which he described as a movement led by young Nigerians, reform-driven leaders, and citizens united in their desire for meaningful change.
He urged the public to ignore distractions and political speculation, calling instead for unity and purpose.
“This is not the time for political games or recycled narratives,” Obi said. “It is time for sincere leadership, built on integrity and a commitment to the Nigerian project.”
He stated that the coalition remains a credible alternative to the current system, and pledged continued efforts to deliver competent and compassionate leadership.
Obi concluded by encouraging Nigerians to stay focused and resilient, saying the mission to build a better, more inclusive Nigeria is still on course.
