The Anambra State Police Command has announced the recovery of the bodies of two Cameroonian women who were kidnapped in the state. Authorities say efforts have intensified to locate the third victim and arrest the suspect who fled the scene.
According to police sources, the women were abducted earlier in the week under circumstances still being investigated. Officers discovered the bodies during a coordinated search operation in a remote area. While foul play is strongly suspected, the cause of death will be confirmed after an autopsy.
Police officials believe the third victim may still be alive, prompting a large-scale rescue operation involving tactical units and local security teams. A manhunt is also underway for the prime suspect, who escaped before officers arrived.
The command is urging members of the public to provide any information that could assist the investigation and has assured residents that every effort is being made to ensure justice for the victims.
