The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has intensified its campaign against airport touting, warning that companies found culpable of illegal activities, passenger harassment, extortion, or other forms of misconduct will have their operating licences revoked.
The authority said the move is part of ongoing efforts to restore order, improve passenger experience, and uphold professionalism across Nigeria’s airports. FAAN stated that licensed operators will be held accountable for the conduct of their employees and agents within airport premises.
According to the authority, the enforcement measure is aimed at eliminating unauthorized activities that tarnish the image of the nation’s aviation sector while ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for both local and international travelers.
FAAN said it will continue to enforce industry standards and urged all airport service providers to comply with operational guidelines or face appropriate sanctions, including licence revocation.
The development has been welcomed by stakeholders, who believe the crackdown will enhance public confidence in Nigeria’s aviation industry and promote a more orderly airport environment.
