The remains of Late Chief.Dr. sir Darlington Amamasi has been laid to rest at his family home in umuchoke Obazu Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state , Nigeria , after a funeral Church service at aged 86.
Eulogising his Late father , Son of the deceased, Nnaemeka Ogbonna Amamasi disclosed that his late father was a hero , who cared for humanity , in his words ” My father you cherished humanity, and all who came your way can testify ” he described his father as a surgeon whose real calling was to put smiles on people’s faces , in his words ” He was a surgeon but in my own humble opinion , his real calling was just to put smiles on peoples faces” he expressed .
Another son of the Late Medical Titan , Mr Ugonna Amamasi ( Gogo ) a Microbiologist said ” It feel surreal that you are no longer on this eartly realm , he reiterated that his late father was an amazing fellow when he was alive who give encouragement to a discouraged person . He said he will miss his father’s sense of humor .
The eldest daughter of the Late legend of the medical proffession , Dr Adanna Mwameme ( MBBS, MPH , PHD , FRSPH ) , said her father gave her faith and courage to reach for great heights , she disclosed that one of her proudest moment in life was working side – by – side with her father at Aladimma Hospital .
Another Daughter of the deceased , Cllr Dr Ezinne Nnadi , expressed deep grief that the death came so sudden , she recalled the Godly virtues of her late father , she said ” The fruit of the spirit is Love , joy , peace , forebearance , kindness , good news, fruitfulness , gentleness and self control , Gal 5 vrs 22, ” she maintained that her late father bore the exact description of the above bible quotation. Speaking further Cllr , reiterated that her late father is known for his intelligence , accomplishment, generosity, and philanthropy.
Pouring Eulogies, in – law to Late Dr. Amamasi Dr. Okechukwu Nnadi , described his Late Father- in-law as a loving and caring father whose generiosity and fatherly advise can not easily be forgotten , Dr.Okechukwu maintained that the exit of his father in-law has really left a big vaccum in the entire family , while praying for Almighty God to grant the soul of his Late In-law a peaceful rest in his bossom .
In their condolence messages , the Imo State Governor , Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma , Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo World wide , International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria , Imo State Branch , Cathedral of the Transfiguration Of Our Lord (CATOL) Owerri , Hearse Ambulance ,Casket , Morticians, Decorators Association Of Nigeria and Umunwafor Village Meeting , Umuchoke , Obazu Autonomous Community , prayed for God to accept Dr. Amamasi in his bossom.
Late , Chief. Dr.Sir Darlington Amamasi (MD , FFCH , FWACS , DMP ), was born into the family of Late Chief Mark Tennyson Amamasi (Erimeagwuagwu 1 of Obazu Mbieri) and Late Lolo Juliet Adanyanwu Amamasi (nee Ugorji) , he is well read, he started School in Bansara (now Ogoja) LGA in Cross River State, Late Dr. Amamasi joined the famous Hope Waddell Training Institution before Proceeding to University of West Berlin , Germany where he acquired his MBBS degree , followed by a one year housemanship, The Civil war was about to begin , so he went in for the six years Post Graduate Course in Surgery which lasted till 1972 culminating in his becoming a qualified consultant General Surgeon at the age of 35 years , after a robust Medical Practice, he drew closer home and established Aladinma Specialist Hospital Owerri in 1982 , he married Barr. Lady Stella Amamasi, Late Dr. Amamasi has spearheaded various tasks in the medical world , he was known for his unique smile , kind heart and reasoned interaction , which has remained in the hearts of many .
Also left to mourn Dr.Amamasi are , his children , grand Children in-laws and other relatives , amongst whom are , Dr. Charles Emeka Nwameme , Elsie Ogechi Amamasi , Dr. Mrs Ogonnaya Queeneth Oyiri Amamasi , Chichi Nnadi , Buchi Xavier Nwameme, Ethan Chimdike Amamasi and host of others .
