He emphasized that those casting aspersions on the legislative process lack a thorough grasp of the intricate budgetary calculations involved. Moreover, President Tinubu expressed profound gratitude to the Senators for their unwavering commitment and invaluable contribution to his administration since its inception.
The focal point of the controversy stems from a recent interview conducted by Senator Ningi with BBC Hausa. In the interview, Senator Ningi asserted that the National Assembly had passed a budget totaling N25 trillion for the 2024 fiscal year. This assertion starkly contrasts with the N28.7 trillion budget currently being implemented by the federal government. Senator Ningi’s statements have ignited a flurry of scrutiny and condemnation, both within the hallowed halls of the Senate and among the Nigerian populace at large.
