LGA Polls: Chukwunyere Presents Manifesto, Promises Holistic Transformation For Nwangele If Elected Chairman

In a remarkable move, Sir Obinna Chukwunyere (KSC), a leading chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Nwangele LGA on Saturday, July 27, made his formal declaration to seek the party nomination for the forthcoming September 21 Imo State local government elections.

The exercise which took place at the party secretariat, Umuanya, Amaigbo, witnessed the chairmanship hopeful, popularly known as “Enyikwonwa” presenting his manifesto to the party leadership and others, attracting joyful reactions from his supporters and APC members who accompanied him to the event, describing him as the best man for the job, hence needed the support of all.

The industrialist and Founder, Chukwunyere Nwihim Foundation, while making the declaration, emphasized the need to change the face of Nwangele LGA through holistic transformation, adding that the necessity agitated him to seek the chairmanship position of the LGA in order to actualize his good plans for the area. He stressed that the huge task required the election a capable and competent person like him, given his wealth of experience in various fields of human endeavours.

Enyikwonwa, who expressed gratitude to APC leaders, officials and members for their contributions towards the affairs of the party, promised to run an open door policy if elected, and to ensure that all members are carried along in various programmes. He solicited their support for the good of all, adding that his aspiration should be supported to enthrone equity, unity, competence and development, positing that it was time to bring fresh ideas through him against recycling those who had occupied the position in the past without any impact.

The Canada-based Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, promised through the Manifesto that his administration would ensure provision of: employment opportunities, constant power supply, sports development, street lighting and beautification, access to healthcare, portable water supply, entrepreneurial loans, adequate security, enhanced learning tools like manual/e- libraries as well as infrastructural transformation among others.

Enyikwonwa declared: “By the grace of God Almighty, I humbly and sincerely offer myself for selfless service to the people of Nwangele Local Government Area to seek for election for the Executive Chairman as a first step towards addressing the enormous problems of my people and consequently I do hereby present my Manifesto,” as he pleaded with the party leaders, officials and members to support him clinch the APC ticket.

Responding, the Nwangele APC Chairman, Comrade Orient Nwadike, commended the aspirant for following the right procedure of making his ambition official by engaging the party. Nwadike, while stating that Sir Chukwunyere was eminently qualified for the party’s ticket, however, advised the aspirant to consult widely, especially the leaders of the LGA among others. He clarified that the party has not endorsed any aspirant, but will ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunities for all contesting.

Other party officials at the Enyikwonwa’s declaration included: Hon Chima Iwuala, Secretary; Mr. Uduji Chinedum Uduji, Publicity Secretary; Lolo Ifeoma Osuagwu, Woman Leader; Barrister Justus Ukaga, Assistant Secretary and the 11 ward executives of APC in Nwangele LGA among other numerous party supporters.

While Sir Chukwunyere (Enyikwonwa) was accompanied by numerous supporters, including: a bosom friend, Mr. Emeka Uwandu; the Director General, Enyikwonwa Campaign Organization, Dr. Ugwueme Eugene; Woman Leader, Mrs. Ozioma Ahamefule and Hon. Beneth Onugha (Eze-Afor-juru) among others. Meanwhile, many during the event attested to the aspirant’s embodiment of excellent and outstanding qualities needed to be the chairman of the LGA.
