The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his administration’s determination to accelerate infrastructure development across Abuja, declaring that residents should expect more visible and impactful projects in the coming months.

Speaking while receiving an award in recognition of his contributions to infrastructure development, Wike said the FCT Administration remains fully committed to delivering quality roads, modern urban facilities and essential public infrastructure that will significantly improve living standards in the nation’s capital.

According to him, infrastructure development is not limited to Abuja city centre alone but extends to satellite towns and underserved communities that have long suffered neglect. He stressed that the goal is to ensure balanced development and close the infrastructure gap between urban and rural areas within the FCT.

Wike also attributed the ongoing infrastructure push to the strong backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President’s vision for Abuja prioritises sustainable development, modern urban planning and economic growth.

The FCT Minister urged residents to support government efforts, particularly through prompt payment of taxes, describing citizens cooperation as critical to sustaining the pace of development. He dismissed criticism from detractors, insisting that the projects on ground speak for themselves.

With multiple road constructions, engineering works and urban renewal projects already underway, Wike assured Abuja residents that the FCT is on course to witness a remarkable transformation, positioning the capital as a true reflection of Nigerias aspirations.
