Concerned Citizens of Egbuoma Ancient Kingdom Applaud Gov. Uzodimma’s Development Initiatives, Laud Commissioner Ruby Emele During Courtesy Visit

The Concerned Citizens of Egbuoma Ancient Kingdom paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Chief Mrs. Ruby Emele, in her office, where they expressed appreciation for her leadership, dedication to duty, and commitment to the effective administration of the Ministry.

The delegation described Chief Mrs. Ruby Emele as a committed public servant whose accessibility, experience, and approach to community engagement have continued to strengthen the relationship between the Ministry, traditional institutions, and the grassroots. They noted that her efforts in handling local government and chieftaincy matters have earned her respect from many communities across Imo State.

According to the group, the Commissioner has continued to demonstrate diligence, patience, and a sense of responsibility in the discharge of her official duties. They said her willingness to listen to community leaders and stakeholders has contributed to confidence in the Ministry’s operations.

The delegation also requested the Commissioner to convey their sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for what they described as his commitment to good governance, infrastructural development, and the overall progress of the state.

They commended the Governor for the reconstruction of strategic roads across Imo State, particularly the Owerri–Orlu Road, Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Road, and the Owerri–Okigwe Road. According to the delegation, the improved road network has enhanced transportation, reduced travel time, encouraged commercial activities, and made movement easier for residents, motorists, farmers, and business owners.

The group observed that the road projects have contributed to improved connectivity between communities and have supported economic activities in different parts of the state. They expressed the view that investments in infrastructure remain an important aspect of development and commended the administration for prioritizing road rehabilitation.

The Concerned Citizens also expressed appreciation for what they described as the Governor’s efforts in promoting peace, security, and development in various communities across Imo State. They said that the administration’s policies have continued to give many communities renewed hope for growth and progress.

A major highlight of the meeting was the delegation’s appeal concerning the Ezeship of Egbuoma Autonomous Community. The group informed the Commissioner that qualified contestants had presented themselves for the traditional stool and appealed to her to convey their request to Governor Hope Uzodimma to give due consideration to the matter.

They urged the Governor to carefully consider the contestants in accordance with the relevant laws and procedures and to approve the candidate who would promote peace, unity, and sustainable development in Egbuoma Autonomous Community. They expressed confidence that the emergence of a duly recognized traditional ruler would further strengthen harmony and foster greater cooperation among the people.

The delegation stated that the presentation of the Staff of Office to the chosen traditional ruler would provide the community with an opportunity to deepen its partnership with government and participate more fully in programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

The group also expressed gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma for the improved security situation in Egbuoma Autonomous Community. They noted that the deployment of security personnel to the area had significantly enhanced safety and restored confidence among residents.

According to the delegation, the intervention has enabled residents to go about their daily activities with greater peace of mind. They stated that businesses, social activities, and community life have continued to improve under the prevailing atmosphere of security, adding that many families can now sleep peacefully without fear.

They further assured the Commissioner of their continued support for initiatives that promote peace, lawful conduct, and community development. The group emphasized the importance of unity among the people of Egbuoma, expressing hope that all stakeholders would continue to work together in the interest of the community’s future.

Responding, Hon. Chief Mrs. Ruby Emele appreciated the delegation for finding time to visit her office and thanked them for their goodwill and constructive engagement. She encouraged the people of Egbuoma Ancient Kingdom to continue to uphold peace, unity, and mutual understanding while supporting government efforts aimed at promoting development across the state.

The Commissioner assured the delegation that their appreciation for Governor Hope Uzodimma and their appeal regarding the Ezeship of Egbuoma Autonomous Community would be communicated through the appropriate channels. She reiterated the importance of peaceful coexistence and respect for due process in resolving community matters.

The visit ended in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with prayers offered for lasting peace, unity, and sustained development in Egbuoma Ancient Kingdom and continued progress for Imo State.

Okorie, Comrade Henry Iwuchukwu, Nwaoloha Longinus Ejiawa, Comrade Titus Ihezuo, Comrade Samson Ijeomah, Engr. Ndubuisi Chibueze, Odogwu Eji Mara Obodo, Nze Smart Nneto, and other members of the Concerned Citizens of Egbuoma Ancient Kingdom.
