Barely one week after the member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie concluded the outcome of peace-talk in Obi-Mbieri Autonomous Communit which he initiated six months ago, Chief, Professor Kyrian Chinedu Onyeji Ndikom, the Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) of the Community has called for “unity of purpose.”
Speaking to our newsmen over the weekend, Prof. Ndikom pleaded with all the warring factions including aggrieved individuals and groups to shealth their swords and embrace peace so as to foster love and attract rapid development from the state government and well-meaning citizens in Obi-Mbieri Autonomous Community.
He challenged the pundits, aggrieved individuals and any interest group to act as patriotic sons of Obi-Mbieri and accept lasting peace initiated before the stakeholders, men, women and youths of the six towns of Obi-Mbieri by the House of Assembly member for Mbaitoli on 1st April,2024 at Orie Obi-Mbieri market square.
The erudite scholar turned TPM thanked Hon. Ikpamezie, the six towns of Obi-Mbieri which include; Obokwe, Ebom, Umuahi, Ohaohia, Umuduru and Umuagwu for reaffirming confidence in him as the “Onowu” of Obi-Mbieri, promising not to let them down, and to elevate the legacy of his traditional ruler through good leadership and human development.
“My loyalty for my traditional ruler, HRH Eze Josiah Osuji has not diminished, and it is not in doubt.”
“I love him and I will continue to work with him”, Ndikom affirmed.
It is unfortunate that my several attempts to visit my traditional ruler overseas were sabotaged by some discontented people amongst us.
Now that lasting peace has been established, “I hope that access to my traditional ruler would be hitch-free for the peace of our dear Community.”
I am happy that Obi-Mbieri that has the largest number of towns out of the seven Communities of Mbieri Clan is now on one page, Ndikom stated.
Meanwhile, on the previous misunderstanding, “no victor, no vanquish,” he added.
The TPM of Obi Mbieri, acting on behalf of his Traditional Ruler seized the opportunity to applaud Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his giant strides in the State especially in the areas of community development through creation of Development Centres, reconstruction and rehabilitation of quality roads, improvement of workers welfare and establishment of new hospitals among others. He prayed that the development reaches Obi Mbieri Community especially a sustainable “road network.”
One of the outspoken village heads of Obi-Mbieri Autonomous Community implied that the entire Obi Mbieri Community joins the Imo State Traditional Institution and Community Policing to support Governor Hope Uzodimma’s “3R mantra” Government”, our reporter gathered.
It would be recalled that the “quenched”
crisis erupted in Obi-Mbieri Community following the ailment of Eze Osuji few years back for which some “‘nay sayers” took the advantage of the Monarch’s lack of capacity to infuse crisis into the Community.
This Newspaper reporter gathered that Chief Prof Kyrian Chinedu Onyeji Ndikom, an Academia and a man of integrity was appointed the TPM by Eze Osuji to hold swear for him as he embarked on medical trip in oversea hospital, hence the vacuum lingered.
In a sinister plot to thwart the documented wish of the monarch by a dissatisfied few, it was further observed that two close associates of the monarch’s family have been claiming to be the TPM and PG of Obi-Mbieri respectively whereas Professor Ndikom was issued Certificate of Recognition as the authentic Traditional Prime Minister of the Community by the Monarch, Eze Osuji.
Our findings indicates all of the following as the “constitutional” hierarchy of leadership in Obi-Mbieri Autonomous Community to date; Obi Mbieri Traditional Hierarchy: Eze (Dr.) Josiah N. Osuji, Traditional Ruler.
Chief, Prof Kyrian Chinedu Onyeji Ndikom, Traditional Prime Minister.
Chief Jonathan Osuji, PRO of Eze’s Cabinet. Chief Richard Uwandu, Special Assistant to the TPM.
Chief Bath Ugwushie, Committee Secretary.
