The critical leaders, stakeholders, Traditional rulers, Captains of industry, The Clergy, Professionals, Diaspora groups, President Generals, Women groups and Youths groups in Okigwe zone has unanimously adopted to take the governorship position in IMO State come 2027.
Speaking to newmen shortly after the submit of the Okigwe Elders Global Forum event recently held in Ihim Autonomous community in Isiala Mbano local government area of the state, the global chairman of the association HRM Eze (Dr) Oliver Ohanwe lemented about the level of poor development in the entire Okigwe zone hence called for unity among the stakeholders and leaders in the zone, with a view to have a common front capable of making the zone move to the next level of success.
According to the global chairman HRM Eze ( Dr) Oliver Ohanwe he said, ” The time for Okigwe zone has come to unite together as brothers to move the zone forward and to take what belongs to us. Again, 2027 is for Okigwe zone to take the IMO State governorship seat or have the state capital relocate to Okigwe zone. No doubt, owerri zone is now more developed hence should not struggle with Okigwe zone in 2027 for the IMO State governorship position”.
Also speaking at the event, Chief Tony Chukwu assured the people
that there is hope in 2027 for Okigwe zone. ” Before the 2023 governorship election in IMO State, His Excellency Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma assured that any zone that gave him the highest votes in the election will take the governorship position after him in 2027. Today, is on record that Okigwe zone gave the highest number of votes in that election. Hence, we should be optimistic and any one God approved for the governorship position from Okigwe zone , l and other leaders will support him in full” – Chief Tony Chukwu said.
Again, according to the senator representing IMO North in the National Assembly, Senator Patrick Ndubueze he said, ” I charge all the good people of Okigwe zone to raise and take what belongs to them in 2027, which is the IMO State governorship position. And this should be for eight years not four years. No doubt, l will support it 100% plus”.
It was gathered that the various groups including the Traditional rulers, President generals, Diaspora groups, Women groups, and Youths groups has all written to the Okigwe Elders Global Forum, expressing their resolutions, commitment and maximum support for the Okigwe zone governorship bid come 2027.
